Brian Leslie Langtree

Chairman and Founder Expac Limited

8^th February 1939 to 1^st November 2010

It is with great regret and sorrow we announce the sudden death of our Chairman and founder of Expac Limited, Brian Langtree

Brian passed away 30 years to the exact date of the company’s incorporation.

Although Brian had been retired for the last 10 years he still had a very active involvement in the structure of the company and visited the factory on a regular basis.

He will be greatly missed by ALL who knew him and we thank him for creating a legacy we can ALL be proud of.   

The company will continue to strive under the present management team and we will continue to grow the business, as its founder Brian would have expected.

The family and management wish to thank present staff / past staff / customers and suppliers new and old for all their kind words of support and sympathy in this difficult time.

Brian’s funeral will take place at the following venue for anyone wishing to pay their last respects

The funeral procession will pass the Expac Factory at approximately 12.30 pm to allow staff, past and present to show their respects .

1.15pm – Thursday 11^th November – Much Hoole Methodist Church – Moss lane / Much Hoole PR4 4TD

Burial at the Woodlands Burial ground – Much Hoole

Expac (Preston) Limited, a BCMPA Contract Manufacturer member, have helped create with celebrity household cleaning guru Aggie MacKenzie, a revolutionary new cleaning product range using probiotics – friendly bacteria -  a true breakthrough for the UK consumer market. Combining friendly bacteria with natural cleaning agents, the products inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria for up to 8 days and also generate a brilliant shine through a deeper microbiological cleaning process. Reaction thus far has been nothing short of ‘fantastic’ from both consumers and the retail trade.

Mark Langtree, M.D. of Expac wasn’t daunted by Aggie’s feisty on-screen persona, but did admit she can be quite demanding.

‘This was certainly a challenge. We literally started with a blank sheet, and helped source and create a brand, with the support of Footprint International Ltd, through from bespoke formulations, packaging and clinical studies all the way through to testing at every step of the process by Aggie herself, and yes, she is certainly passionate about cleaning and set very demanding standards that we had to meet!’

‘It’s also been a project that we have enjoyed at the factory, with the whole workforce involved, and I must confess we always made sure the site was spotless whenever Aggie was visiting.’

Expac with capabilities that include new product development, manufacturing and packaging solutions are confident that their 50,000 Sq ft production facility will be able to meet demand. As producers of over 50pc of all the Talcum Powder in the UK Expac are no strangers to meeting the tailored demands of their customers. A number of fully-automated filling lines have been specifically designated for the production of Aggie’s Probiotics, whilst the expansion of Powder, Salt and Tube filling facilities have also recently been completed. The launch of Aggie’s Probiotics in early May will be followed by further breakthrough probiotic products already in development.
